Welcome to Corsicana Quality Alpacas and Hay
NOTE: For 2020 all of our hay has been sold.
Here at Corsicana Quality Alpacas and Hay, in North Texas, we have created a home for these wonderful animals. We had a number of goals when we started this adventure:
- Provide them with a peaceful and safe environment.
- Have a place where our family and visitors could come and relax and interact with the alpacas.
- Produce the best quality Alpacas possible.
- Having quality animals allows us to produce exceptional fleece products.
- Produce a high quality hay for our alpacas and other alpaca ranches
One of the side benefits of these animals is they are very comforting. When things seem to go wrong, we just walk down to the animals and just sit or stand and watch. They force you to relax while you watch them graze, lay so the sun shines on the stomach, or just HUM!
Well I have finally called it quits and retired. I have been solving business problems for 50 years. It is going to feel weird waking up without a problem to deal with.
A fellow alpaca rancher has just told me that the 'Camilids' which include Lamas and Alpacas, may have something in their blood that can prevent or cure the coronavirus. I do not remember which one. I have always said these animals were special. Let's pray the rumors are true.
We are still adding different products. The ranch that does this for me are very special people and come up with some really neat products. The last time they made Alpaca dolls and when someone comes to the Ranch they fall in love with them - they are neat!!
All of our product so far, except for two blankets are created with fleece from our animals. One of the problems we have not conquered yet at our Farm Store, is ordering more than one product at a time. Until we get that solved, you can Contact us
and we will send you a quote.
Some may ask 'Can a rug, made from Alpaca fleece, stand up to traffic?'. When our two foundation animals passed, due to age, we had a round rug made from their fleece. One animal was white and the other brown. The rug has been in our entry way for almost five years and shows no sign of wear. Every two weeks we take it outside and lightly shake it out because it gets all the dirt and mud from the front door entry. I will put a picture of the rug on the web site so you can see it.
Our animals are consistently in the top 1%. If not in the top 1% they are in the top 15% of all registered alpacas EPDs. We have not turned our fleece in for testing the last couple of years. We were going to this year (2020) but the lab that did the work was closed because the owner retired.
